Professor Layton And The Unwound Future Coming October
I can't get enough of Professor Layton. The first two games spent so much time in my DS that I began to think of the console as my "Layton Puzzle Machine!" A few years ago I was disappointed after Professor Layton and the Curious Village was released stateside that we had to wait so long to hear about the other games getting an international release. Then last September saw the release of Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box, and just over a year later, it looks like we are finally getting the 3rd installment Professor Layton and the Unwound Future this October!
The Professor and Luke are back in a new adventure involving mysterious letters form the future and time travel! Layton receives a note from Luke from 10 years in the future warning of a terrible event about to transpire in current times. This occurs just as the Prime Minister vanishes in a experiment involving a time machine.
Level 5 has upped the ante this time around with 165 new puzzles, a lengthy narrative and more movie cutscenes than the previous games. I am terribly curious and excited to check out the included flashbacks that fill in some backstory of Layton's long lost lover and the full tale of how he laid claim to that ubiquitous hat!
New mini games will have you playing with a pet parrot and using stickers to fill out a storybook as you solve puzzles. The successful completion of the games will unlock additional puzzles. The puzzle solving will again propel the story forward and if you get stuck glorious hint coins will be returning to assist with a new twist. This time around there is a new feature called the Super Hint that will give you a clue so obvious that even your logistically disinclined boyfriend would find the hardest puzzle a breezy! Be wary though! A Super Hint claims 2 Hint Coins!
Rounding out the features of The Unwound Future is the undisclosed "additional content" that will be available via Nintendo WiFi. I imagine new puzzles and mini games will extend the playtime of what looks like yet another grand slam for the Layton series. Professor Layton and the Unwound Future will be arriving stateside October 12 and in Europe, where it's known as Professor Layton and the Lost Future, on October 22.

The story begins when the Professor receives a mysterious letter written by his sidekick Luke.... but sent from 10 years in the future! This Future Luke warns of a terrible calamity that has befallen London and he needs the Professor's aid! Earlier that week, the British Prime Minster disappeared after taking part in a special test on a time machine, which resulted in an explosion. Could this incident be related..?

Using the Nintendo DS Stylus, complete numerous kinds of logic problems and brain-testing puzzles as you follow the duo on their quest to seek out and solve the mystery. Spend time enjoying the atmosphere of the game, deeply exploring all that the capital has to offer such as travelling on the tube and visiting Chinatown.
With even more narrative and animated movie scenes than in the two previous instalments, this latest offering from Nintendo and developer Level 5 captures the spirit, adventure and charm of the well-loved series, but with a whole host of exciting additions and fresh challenges.
Players will be able to discover more about the Professor's mysterious past through flashbacks, as the story is revealed with full-motion animation sequences that will explain the secrets behind Professor Layton's lost lover and how he obtained his well-renowned hat.
As well as featuring three brand new types of mini-game puzzles, you can help Professor Layton direct the 'Laytonmobile' or interact with his new pet parrot. You can complete a storybook by using special stickers which are awarded to you on solving special puzzles hidden throughout the game, in addition to meeting a host of new characters who also unlock additional puzzles as you progress.
If puzzles prove too challenging for some, there is always help at hand by utilising a limited number of handy hints which are available for each individual puzzle. Players can use hint coins to help prevent giving wrong answers. They can also earn Picarats for puzzles completed correctly, but be warned! For every answer you give which is incorrect, you will reduce your score of Picarat currency that you will gain along the way.
For those who are truly stuck, there is a new Super Hint feature which will offer an extremely telling clue - although this is an expensive practice and will cost you two hint coins!
And for those who just can't get enough of the puzzles, the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service will be on hand to download additional content.*

Sounds great I can't wait! I also read that Level-5 is going to open an office in the Usa (California) and publish their own games. They also have another project to open a new office on Europe!
