Your Mac Gets All Steamy Starting Tomorrow

The day Mac users has dreamed of is finally here: A real platform for playing decent games on the Mac has arrived. As of tomorrow, Steam launches its service for Mac computers, ending the long standing thought that Macs can't be taken seriously as a gaming platform. Every Wednesday, a new slew of titles will be made available starting this week with, among others, Torchlight. Portal is also in the mix somewhere although it is unclear whether that will be amongst the launch titles tomorrow.
Folks who have already purchased titles for their PCs will also have those games offered to them free of charge for the Mac. Also available will be Steam's suite of publishing and dev tools including product key authentication, copy protection, auto-updating, social networking, matchmaking, anti-cheat technology, and more. These dev tools will be available free of charge.
So a big huzzah for Valve and Steam. Mac gamers of the world salute you.

Not so fast! Apparently, it looks like it's not a launch of Steam for Mac, but Steam Beta for Mac...and they're not taking any more testers for now.

So it looks like it'll be some time before Steam is available to a wider audience.
