Street Fighter IV Bringing Ultra Combos To iPhone

If you're a combo enthusiast, EX spammer, or even if you just have a thing for throwing out long pokes, you may be excited to find out that your options are about to expand, as Capcom has announced Street Fighter IV will be releasing on a whole new platform!

...What? No, not the Wii, silly - the iPhone!

IGN has the very first screens below (and also an extremely glowing hands-off preview), which show an example of the button overlay, including a large joystick and four attack buttons. This necessarily means fighters will have more limited options, as some of the game's combos do require using light, medium, and heavy punch in sequence. Still, special moves are definitely in and don't require much timing, so if you want to go crazy with the hadoukens, this port should definitely accommodate!

It's also worth admiring the style and detail in the characters - despite the scrunched resolution, the gameplay still looks solid, with enough shading and effects to reasonably be compared to the HD versions. And while this version of Street Fighter IV won't be going online, it does have Bluetooth support for when you want to throw down with some folks on the subway by whipping out your iPhones.

So far only Ken and Ryu are confirmed, but Capcom has promised to announce plenty of new characters and pricing in the weeks leading up to the game's March release. To start practicing the motions for your touchscreen dragon punch, check out IGN's screens below!
