Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary
Dear Diary,
Another big holiday this week that threw me completely off schedule again. And I'm only posting this on Monday special because Friday was a holiday. Not because I just woke up after a long weekend of New Year's drinking at Pippy's. (Girl can mix a cocktail!) So you're going to have to hear from me twice this week. Hopefully I'll be able to keep things interesting. I mean, this week had a big holiday and a couple of big dramas, but watch next week be so quiet I'll have nothing to talk about!
So I decided to go ahead and buy turnips at 108 bells, which is a little steep, but I was hoping to get lucky. I've gotta say, the way Joan kind of laughs as she hands over the turnips is a little disturbing. Like she's plotting something. It's always a little difficult over the holidays because I forget what day of the week it is, and forget to sell the turnips. But I caved in on Thursday and sold them to Nook because the asking price was up to 179. Not too bad. I got lucky, too, because instead of going up on Friday like I was expecting, it worked out in my favor and they dropped to 81! Lucky me!
Biskit tried to tell me he had to go, so I quickly asked him not to. He said he was kind of stuck, but would try to work something out. I wasn't about to let him get away with this, because Biskit is old school, and I really wanted to keep him around. So I sent a bribe letter, too, as is my custom. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, but I'd never forgive myself if I didn't at least try!
So then get this: After trading a scallop to Pascal for a ship cannon, I mailed that to Biskit as the bribe to stay in town. Imagine my surprise when the very next day, he's all, oh man, I'm short on cash, will you buy this ship cannon? The very same gift I mailed him, he's trying to sell back to me! And at that price! The nerve!
Well, of course I bought it. I had to make sure he stuck around! Gotta keep 'em happy!
All afternoon on the 31st, everyone was all abuzz about the New Year coming and the big celebration Narnia was planning. Pippy even said something about Narnia's countdown being on TV, but I've never seen it. I prefer watching Anderson Cooper... mmm... Silver Fox...
After all the fireworks and nonsense died down, everyone went to bed, but I awoke on January 1st to a mailbox stuffed full of New Year's greeting cards from all my friends. I especially liked Pippy's.
Oh yeah, and Mom said this lovely note... with $1000 bells included! Woo hoo! They say money can't buy love, but they might be wrong! I love you, mom!
When Olivia mentioned she was considering packing up her things and hitting the road, I told her no as well, and she pretty much decided on the spot that she wouldn't go anywhere. I don't know if I was that persuasive or what, but I believed her enough that I didn't bother sending a bribe letter. Hell, if I did, she'd probably sell the thing back to me at a jacked up price the next day! Hope I don't regret it by finding a letter from her telling me she's moved on, but we'll see...
I was a little concerned when I didn't get my New Year's T-shirt at the fireworks at midnight, then that it wasn't included in the letters I got the next morning. I couldn't remember when I got the one from last year. Turns out that Tortimer hangs out outside the Town Hall on the 1st and hands them out there. There's some kind of a green animal face on the front that I can't figure out if it's a bear or a lion, and it says 2010 in green on the back. Yay free T-shirt!

Heh, you have Jay in your town, he just moved to mine today. Just what I needed, another jock!
Your updates always leave me with the craving of getting a Wii, because I have Animal Crossing on the Nintendo DS and everything is tiny and the graphics are meh.
Fortunately (or not), I haven't owned a TV in years, so that always puts a stop to any crazy shopping impulses.
What's on your shirt is a tiger, because 2010 is the year of the tiger in China.
