Sony Unleashes New God Of War III Screens
While fans of the bloody action romp that is God of War III were originally hoping to see a new trailer today, according to some comments made on the PlayStation Blog by Sony rep Jeff Rubenstein, the time is not yet right.
There's no word yet on when the stars will align to reveal a new trailer, but Sony has still unleashed the floodgates, ending what their blog calls a drought of info on the massively-anticipated title.
What you see below is a part of this feast for the eyes: seven screenshots from a relatively new demo, and a cover for the "inspired" EP God of War: Blood and Metal which will be coming with the Ultimate Edition of the game. Destructoid's impressions from this demo note that it features our favorite blood-splashed war machine locked in battle with a huge crab-like creature exuding elemental water, which breaks up through the (ridiculously massive) Gaia as she scales Mount Olympus with Kratos in tow. This ends in a jaw-dropping section where Kratos is battling the creature upside-down, his blades buried in the rippling surface that threatens to shake him off, even as he struggles to hold his own against the giant enemy crab.
Seeing as this is all still taking place on the way up to Mount Olympus, it's a sure thing that there's more to come from God of War III. With a release window of March, Sony still has plenty of time to tease us with new environments, weapons, and mythological foes before the big splash this spring.
