Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary
Dear Diary,
Once again, a holiday throws off my regular schedule. I hope you didn't think I'd forgotten about you. Even without the holiday, there was big doings in Narnia this week, so make the jump to read all the gossip. Oh, and just as a heads up, there's another holiday at the end of this week, so my first entry of 2010 will also be on a Monday, not a Friday! Don't worry!
I'm not so big into the winter holidays, so I tend to hold off on decorating as long as possible. I mean, I put on my Santa costume last week because I was already bored of my outfit and I needed a change. But it wasn't until this week that I finally swapped out my Halloween furniture for the Snowman set. I'd put out Jingle if I had it all, but I don't. And spoiler alert I still don't.
I got a letter from Nintendo that read: "Do you feel the chill in the air? Winter's officially here, which means a nice cup of joe will taste even better. Maybe a trip to the Roost is in order?" Of course, while you'd expect that letter to mean that the DLC present would be a coffee maker or something like that, you'd be wrong. Nope! It was this absolutely creepy snowman hat. I thought it might be something that turns your whole head into a snowman head, but instead it looks like you decapitated a poor, innocent snowman and then stuck your head through the back of his skull. It's just wrong. I can't wear it. It creeps me out.
I have to admit I was a little surprised to receive a letter from Stinky telling me that he'd abandoned me and moved on to greener pastures. And by greener pastures, I mean, not Narnia. Jerk. He'd stopped talking about leaving, so I thought that my powers of persuasion and the odd bribe had convinced him to stick around. Guess not. I hate when I can't keep the people I enjoy while boring sweet ones like Alice seem to never leave. Nothing against Alice. She's a sweet little Koala, but sweet is so boring!
I was wandering around one evening and Apollo remarked on how pretty the sky was, but when I looked up, all I saw were stars. Nothing at all out of the ordinary. But within like, five minutes, I noticed it looked a little odd, and when I looked up again, I could start to see a little bit of aurora borealis. And sure enough, within another few minutes, the whole sky was lit up with a beautiful light show. Nice!
My mom, bless her heart, sent a little holiday missive, and along with her cheesy "joke" sent me a winter sweater. Sigh. I guess I should be grateful it wasn't a pair of socks or something. Then again, I'm a little tired of the green socks I appear to be stuck with. A little change might be good!
In the past, it's taken over a week between someone moving out and a new resident moving in, so imagine my surprise to see that a new house had popped up in the most popular neighborhood (up near Nook's, naturally). I went inside to meet the new neighbor, and was chuffed to find out it's another sporty type. So Stinky was replaced by Jay. And while I'm going to miss Stinky's wrestler mask head, Jay seems pretty cool. And despite the appearance of what looks like blue eyeshadow, I think we'll get along just fine. He also looks like the closest thing I've ever seen to Ace, who I haven't seen since the first town I lived in.
Of course, the big news this week was Jingle's visit on the 24th. The only problem was that he'll only give you furniture once. You can trick him by putting on a new outfit, but I only managed to pull that off once before he disappeared completely. I thought he stayed until midnight, but maybe not. Seriously, I did like, two laps of the entire town looking for him, and didn't see a trace. I even went into the empty houses to see if I could catch him in the act of leaving presents, but nothing. So I only got a Jingle carpet and a Jingle dresser. It's like the hardest furniture set to complete, I think. God, do you think I'll still be living here next Christmas to try again?

i have tons of jingle extras. just no extra wallpapers, clocks or flooring. if you need anything, message dxmkrewon the forums and i'll mail it.
and he should of stayed from 8-12...did you try restarting?
The trick was to find him--sometimes he was outside and sometimes he was in empty houses (he kept re-visiting some--and skipped others entirely--guess those animals were getting coal).
I played and played but kept on getting tons of wallpapers and carpets. I got much of the furniture--but alas, no bed. I played an extra 45 minutes hoping for a bed...and every time, no dice.
oh well, it was still fun in Brer Town!
