Team Fortress 2 Demo And Soldier War
Well VorpalBunny saw the rumors flying yesterday as to what the Team Fortress 2 update would be about, and it does look like the Demoman and the Soldier are involved, but apparently it's going to be an all out war. As the case has been in the past with classes receiving an update in TF2, both the Soldier and Demoman classes will be receiving a set of unlockable achievements and three new weapons/items per class to help them in their fight against the opposing team; however, in a twist of fate, there is an elusive "7th" weapon that is out there, and it looks like it's either going to the Soldier or the Demoman, it all depends on who wins the WAR.
That's right, Demoman and Soldier for the next week will be at war with each other to see who gets the treasured 7th weapon come patch day. Valve, for the next week, will be keeping track of Demo deaths and Soldier hands and Soldier deaths and Demo hands, and whichever class has the higher kill count wins the weapon come patch day. It's an interesting way to involve the players in the patch, but at the same time be ready to see tons of soldiers and demomans in your matches this week. Apparently the friend and mercenary system will also be working into this war and patch in some way, we'll keep our eyes open for that tidbit. Valve also will be leaking the other six weapons, three for each class, as well as the achievements during the days leading up to the patch, so stay tuned to see what cool goodies await. It's almost like Christmas in. . . December, oh.
