Pixeljunk Shooter Coming To PSN Next Week

Few companies have done more to promote PSN as a place for unique ideas than Q Games with their Pixeljunk series. Even if you're not always enthralled by how they play, the games add a bit of style to some traditionally staid and conservative genres. Over on the Playstation blog, the folks at Q have announced the newest game in the series, Pixeljunk Shooter, is hitting the PS3 next week, on Thursday, December 10 in both Europe and North America.
As you can probably tell from the name, the game is their take on the shooter genre, although it also involves elements of exploration and puzzle solving. It appears to be more ambitious than the previous Pixeljunk titles, with a complex structure and even a story to go along with it. The game also has an off-line co-op mode, so at least you can play with friends in the same room, if not ones across the country. No price point has been officially announced, although Dylan Cuthbert, the President of Q Games, is "pretty sure" it will be $9.99.
