It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Solstice In Demon's Souls
On the official Playstation twitter feed, Sony teased that players of the year's sleeper hit Demon's Souls might expect some changes to the game's world for the holidays.

For Halloween's special event, when the Old One's power was growing, all of the game's worlds were given a black tendency, making the demons stronger and increasing the experience they gave out. Speculation follows that a Christmas or holiday event could turn the worlds white, making enemies somewhat easier to beat, although they'd provide fewer souls to players. Pure white tendency also opens up certain locations in the game world that are usually closed off, which can lead to meeting new characters and getting special items. It normally takes a lot of work to make your worlds pure white, so if you haven't been able to do it yourself, this event might be just what you've been waiting for.
My first weekend playing the game was during the Halloween event, and I restarted about four times before I finally got the hang of things. With my fourth character, I had finally beaten the first boss, only to stupidly wander away and get smacked in the head by a surprise dragon. Of course it did make playing the game on normal days seem a bit more reasonable. I'll definitely have to check out whatever this special event turns out to be, and I have to say I hope that future holidays bring other special features to the game. Maybe ranged attacks could be more effective on Valentine's Day, or we'll get Increased Luck based drops on St. Patrick's Day, or maybe a bunch of trees show up and just hang out on Arbor Day. The mind boggles.

No seriously though, I still haven't played this. I'm easily frustratable and this game looks like it might just go straight for my jugular. Seems like a really cool product, otherwise.
