Guilty Gear Not Dead Yet According To Series Creator

I don't play a whole lot of fighting games, but I have a fond love for the Guilty Gear series. What can I say, I'm a sucker for gorgeous hand-drawn animation and insane character designs. But after the ill-received, genre swapping Guilty Gear: Overture and the huge success of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger it seemed like Arc System Works had moved on to bluer, HD pastures.
Not so, according to Guilty Gear series creator Daisuke Ishiwatari. In a comment to NowGamer, Arc System Works' Tomo Ohno relayed Ishiwatari's message that "I have the full intention to create Guilty Gear for PS3 and 360." While "full intention" is hardly the same as "in development," this is certainly good news for fellow Guilty Gear fans. That is, it's good news as long as this means a true Guilty Gear fighting game rather than something following in Overture's footsteps.
And before you get too excited, don't get your hopes up for a Capcom-style BlazBlue/Guilty Gear crossover. "Personally I don't like that idea," Ohno told NowGamer. "BlazBlue is a new thing, and there might be some crossover but at the moment we don't have any plans." I suppose my Chipp Zanuff/Bang ninja face off fantasies will have to just remain as fantasies for now.
