Video: Pinball Emulation At Its Finest

Emulation is one of those tricky subjects that often crosses the legal line, but also has many perfectly ethical and legal uses. This however is indisputably awesome! Chris77 over at Build Your Own Arcade Controls Forum took apart a Star Trek: The Next Generation pinball machine and rebuilt it into what could possibly be the greatest arcade emulator ever. This extremely classy looking setup did not come cheap or easy by the sounds of it, as Chris had to replace many of the cabinet's structural elements (legs, coin acceptors, and service buttons) along with fixing three different LCD displays inside of the machine! Granted, it's not playing the games on a real table and all, but the ability to play classics like The Adams' Family, Funhouse, or Pinbot on demand has to make up for what few inconsistencies video emulation introduces. Even though I have to tilt my head to watch the thing in action, it looks nothing short of breathtaking!

Hit the jump for a full break down on the parts and pieces used to construct this glorious machine!
