Namco Reveals Details Of Tekken 6 Fix

Tekken6_Miguel.jpg

So remember a while back when I told you about how Namco Bandai was working on a patch to tweak some of the online play in Tekken 6? Well, the patch... sorry, they're calling it an "update"... will be available on November 26 and will include:

  • Improved input response: Improve game's responsiveness to button/command inputs

  • Selectable search priorities for ranked matches: Players will be able to set search priorities for opponents in ranked matches based on comparable rank or connection speed quality as well as area.

  • Optimize data transmission between fighters and spectators: The fight data will be optimized in order to reduce the bandwidth load on the host's console.

  • Signal strength bars: The update will improve the signal strength bar to reflect connection quality more accurately.

  • Chance to cancel match: The update will allow players to cancel the match before it begins after displaying the opponent's signal strength.

Again, you'd think that all of that would've been addressed before the game was actually released, but it does seem that once hard drives came standard in consoles, developers decided it was okay to patch buggy releases after the fact like they've been doing on PC's for years. Sigh. Oh, and remember, this update is separate from the online co-op Scenario Campaign mode download that's scheduled for later this winter!
