European Playstation Blog Teases Final Fantasy XIII Announcement

ffxiiishot.jpg

Over on the European Playstation Blog, Square Enix's Antonio "Papero" Marfuggi has posted an special announcement. According to the post, Friday the 13th (tomorrow) will bring a BIG announcement concerning Final Fantasy XIII from the game's producer Yoshinori Kitase.

What could it be? New characters? A launch date? New powers? Who knows! It could be anything, but let the speculation begin. What do you think could be so big that a pre-announcement had to be made?

[Thanks, Cerberus635]

it would be awesome if they announce that they will keep the japanese track on the game so players could of have the choice of english or original japanese.

hopefully it will be released sooner than april 2010. that would be so awesome.

The fact that they're making a big deal of this announcement gives me hope that not only is it a release date for North America and Europe, but that it's sooner than anticipated. I seriously doubt this will happen, but if they announce FFXIII will be available by the end of the year, I just might wet myself.

They've already stated that that isn't going to happen. The reason being that theres not enough disc space on the 360 version and that they didn't want there to be any differences between versions.

It saddened me too when I first read it. I played Eternal Sonata with the JP voiceovers turned on because I really didn't like the English ones.

Previous FF titles have had pretty good quality English voice acting in the past, but it would always be nice to have the option there to have BOTH.

Personally... I think they'll just be announcing the release date, which will hopefully be EARLIER than previously stated.

They said it would be BIG news... to me, giving a definite release date at the end of Spring 2010 like they said it would be isn't BIG news.... making it an earlier date though WOULD be.

I'm callin' April for America and July [or August] for Europe [PS3].

360 ones will be out in Winter I presume [sadly for me and my 360].

FF is going on my nerves. That "oh so cool" wannabe-stuff mixed with the "oh so perfect, sterile, starwars-ish world" is just no FF any more.

This game is the biggest reason I'm buying a PS3. I hope Sony releases a special bundle when it comes out.
