Video: Sony's Cylindrical 3D Display

While not specifically intended for gaming or even retail, it's pretty awesome and it's possible gaming applications are intriguing. This is a prototype that displays a 96 by 128 pixel resolution 3D image that can be viewed at multiple angles and displays depth. The images are either created in a computer or by taking several photographs around a still object, a la 'bullet time'. Sony says that this is just a prototype with no particular function and that they're still looking into applications for it before building towards a retail release.
