Sakaguchi Working Hard On New Mistwalker Game, Also On LEGO

If you haven't been following Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi's development blog, that's very understandable. On it the iconic developer seems to talk about everything except for his game development. But every once in a while small bits of information trickle out, and typically with them some new LEGO creation. Back in April Sakaguchi mentioned he was working on a new game project, as well as a LEGO truck. Now Sakaguchi has made a new post mentioning the yet unannounced project, and it seems to be pretty far into development.
Am I an "idle man", I wonder? (^^; Well, I am just trying to pastime... I am working hard on a new project. Now we just started going into the final phase of the production. No matter what, I will make it really good....
Sakaguchi also showed off pictures of his latest LEGO creation: surfer mustache guy. I guess he really must be getting serious about the new project since his LEGO creations have seen a significant drop in complexity.
Seriously though, I cannot wait for this new Mistwalker game to be announced. Mistwalker was previously responsible for Lost Odyssey, which I would argue as the best RPG of this console generation, so the promise that the next game will be "really good" is a promise not to be taken lightly. Then again, Mistwalker was also responsible for Blue Dragon, so there's also the possibility that the whole thing could go horribly wrong (or at the very least, horribly generic and contrived). I guess we'll just have to wait for a more official announcement to see how this new project is shaping up. In the mean time though, surfs up!

Haha, since the competition for the spot of "best JRPG of the current generation of consoles" includes Last Remnant, Infinite Undiscovery, Eternal Sonata, Enchanted Arms and the aforementioned Blue Dragon, and *nothing else*, I'd say Lost Odyssey wins hands down.
But come next spring, it will surely have to give up the crown to FF13. XD

I haven't seen or heard any details about FFX13 to make me think that it'll be anything spectacular. I'm sure it will be good, but I'm not holding out hope for something of FFVI or FFIX caliber.
And there have been other great JRPGs this console generation, like Valkyria Chronicles, Tales of Vesperia, and Disgaea 3. But I didn't say "best JRPG of the current generation of consoles," I said best RPG, including Oblivion, Fable 2, Fallout 3, The Witcher, and Mass Effect. This is of course only my own opinion, but I'd say that Lost Odyssey beats those as well (though Fallout 3 is a very close second).
