Rumor: Xbox 360 Facebook, Twitter Launching Nov. 17 In UK
For a little while, the splash page for Xbox.com in the UK had pegged November 17th as the date gamers in that country could expect to be tweeting and committing acts of Facebookery through their consoles. The page now just says Autumn 2009, so there's a chance that original date was incorrect, but it's also possible that someone just jumped the gun on the official announcement.
Either way, it's coming very soon, definitely to the UK but probably other territories as well. As a user of neither service, I can't say I'm jazzed for one or the other, but getting more is always better than less. Both services will only be available to Xbox Live Gold members, so I hope it provides a little more functionality than what you can do for free using your cell phones. If the date holds, I admit I'm a little surprised it won't be out before Modern Warfare 2, but perhaps they were already worried about taxing their infrastructure.
