'Beneath A Steel Sky' Now Available On iPhone

Via Joystiq, Beneath a Steel Sky is now available on the iPhone App Store. Set in a future dystopian Australia, the game has you leading the main character in a quest to evade capture from the shadowy corporate figures he's on the run from in order to make sense of the series of events that unfold at the start of the story. If you've ever played any of the classic Lucas Arts titles like Day of the Tentacle or The Dig, Beneath a Steel Sky is very similar.
The 1994 point-and-click adventure game has been greeted with critical acclaim ever since its release and has been available as a freeware title since 2003 through the popular ScummVM emulation tool. While it has also worked on jailbroken iPhones for some time now as well, the AppStore's port is a more accessible version of the game for those who might not have unlocked their devices or don't want to deal with setting up the ScummVM implementation themselves. This comes with a cost, however, as the app is 4.99 USD on iTunes.
The game's stylized comic book-like graphics stand the test of time even compared to modern games, and the touch interface of the iPhone is perfectly suited for its gameplay. If you've never had a chance to check out this classic adventure game, itself one of the best examples of the genre, now is a great time to pick it up.

For £2.99 in the UK I might have to pick this up. I remember loving playing it the first time around, would love to play it again!
