Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary

RUU_0416.JPG

Dear Diary,

Sometimes nothing happens to write to you about, but then sometimes a lot of nothing happens that I can write about. You know, nothing hugely important, but somewhat interesting. Well, to me, anyway! Your mileage may vary!

This week they held another Bug-Off. Since I've already won this thing like, twice or something, I wasn't really into it. I caught one of the swarms of crickets milling about town because it was right next to town hall, but it couldn't compete with Felicity's walking stick, which got 62 points. So the next day in the mail, I got no trophy, just the Good Sport Award. That and $2.50 will get you on the subway...

I've noticed this before, but I don't think I mentioned it at the time. Occasionally the bulletin board will alert the town that it's someone's birthday and wishes them a happy birthday. The thing is, if you talk to them, they don't say anything. I totally talked to Octavian on this day, and he acted like it wasn't his birthday at all. What's up with that? I remember in the last town I lived in, if it was someone's birthday, you could go over to their house where they would be having a party with another guest, and you could give them a birthday present and everything. Now? It's like they don't even care. Why? It's annoying.

I was up early on Sunday so I tracked down Joan to see about the turnips. I always make sure to buy a red turnip seed because that 15,000 will offset the possible losses on the white turnips I buy. This time they were going for 110 bells, which I thought was kind of steep, but I bought 200 anyway. I threw them on the floor of my house until the end of the week. The price finally went up to 130 on Thursday, but thankfully they went to 156 on Friday, so I was able to make a reasonable profit. I suspect that since I sold them for 156 on Friday that on Saturday they'll be 200 and something. But if I'd held out, it would've dropped back to 50. Better safe than sorry, I always say!

Blanca showed up again, and since she had no face at all once more, I decided to go ahead and give her a little something so she didn't look so freakishly creepy. She wanted something cool, so I gave her some sunglasses. I like the idea of drawing faces for Blanca, but whenever she shows up, I never seem to be in the mood to spend the time to do anything elaborate.

For whatever reason, this week people had lots of presents to deliver. I don't know why everyone went on a gift-giving spree, but whatever. Pippy seemed utterly thrilled by the bath mat that I brought her from Alice. These people are so strange.

Towards the end of the week, Felicity finally moved out. It's too bad, because she was my next door neighbor. Hopefully whoever takes her place won't move to the upper west side like 90% of the rest of Narnia's residents. Sometimes I'm afraid that the town's going to start tilting in that direction! I'm not really going to miss Felicity for any other reason, though, because I barely had a chance to get to know her before she pulled up stakes and hit the road. Whatever.

Nothing really to say about this. Just wanted to include the photo because it shows what a bitch Biskit is. Laugh it up, furball... karma's a bitch, too!

Pascal showed up, but I wasn't on top of my shells, so I had no scallop for him. After he gave me this utterly bizarre piece of "wisdom" and dove into the river to float back out to the sea from whence he came, I cleared the beach, but still no scallops. The problem is, I usually can't bring myself to clear the beach again because it's so time consuming and the shells aren't worth crap at Nook's. It's such a bother!

Last, and definitely least, Nook is worried about his stupid store again. He seems to get nervous every few months, and I always have to tell him that things are fine as they are. I like the variety because it gives me more crap to buy for points, and it's not like he closes at 6pm or anything. I can always get in there before he locks up. You'd think with the empire that Nook has created for himself, he'd have a little more confidence!

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
