Video: Behind The Aural Scenes Of Shatter
One of the most surprisingly addictive titles that I've been playing recently is the PSN exclusive Shatter. This trippy little title brings physics-based gameplay to classic "brick out" arcade titles for something shockingly fresh. Think of it as Rez-like twist on Arkanoid.
As amazing as the visuals are in the title, perhaps the greatest feature of the game is its amazing soundtrack. It's rare that a game will immediately draw me into it the way that Shatter has with its excellent audio design. I suppose it's also fair to say that it's rare that a game's soundtrack costs more than the game itself, but at least both purchases are worth it. Recently GameTrailers.com sat down with Sidhe Interactive's Music Producer, Jos Ruffel, and the title's composer, Module, for an in-depth interview that cover's the game's audio production techniques as well as its obvious and not-so-obvious influences. It's amazing to see how much effort went into creating the audio for a game that costs less than $8. Hopefully we'll see Sidhe continue pushing the conceptual boundaries of DLC games with their next title.
