Video: 3D Dot Game Heroes Has An Epic Trailer
A month ago screenshots for From Software's quirky new game 3D Dot Heroes started to appear. The 3D pixel art style of the game warmed the heart of any retro gamer that saw it, but gave little indication of what we should actually be expecting from the game. Well now our questions are being answered with a new revealing trailer.
There is a clear Zelda inspiration to the game from looking at the trailer. The gameplay and many of the locales and enemies seem to be ripped right from the NES game, which is definitely a good thing. Heck, it's even got Zelda's chickens tucked away in one part of the trailer. But even though the game blatantly borrows from classic games, it still manages to look like a distinct experience thanks to the 3D pixel style and what can be assumed to be a healthy dose of humor to accompany the visuals.
The end of the trailer gives an 11/5 release date for Japan. Here's hoping that a US date will be following in the not so distant future.

Oh my gosh I love this game already. The whole time I was watching it, I was trying to figure out what system it would be for. Its funny how some of the simplest looking games could also be one of the best looking. :)

Oops, forgot to mention that the game is coming to the PS3. It says it at the verrrrry end of the trailer with a small PS3 logo, so it's quite easy to miss.

This game looks terribly spiffy. Also, have a giant hard-on for that music. The mix between the fanfare and the 8-bit is phenomenal.
