Bethesda, id Snatch Up 'Prey' Trademark

A Trademark Assignment at the US Patent and Trademark Office shows that Zenimax Media, parent company of both Bethesda and id Software, now owns the rights to Prey - previous trademark holder Apogee appears to have transferred the rights in their entirety.
For those following the dev trail, Prey, originally concocted in the 90s at Apogee/3D Realms, finished for the PC at Human Head and published by Take Two; the property, including the sequel - announced by Scott Miller of 3D Realms and by Radar Group - was transferred to Radar Group in June and then from Radar Group to Zenimax.
This after Human Head announced that it was no longer working on Prey 2, and nothing but silence from Radar Group, which is neither a developer nor a publisher, but a "brand creation and portfolio management company."
Confused? Wish the original game had been as interesting as its pedigree? Maybe we'll see what Bethesda has the chance to do with the tale of Domasi "Tommy" Tawodi and the otherwise-interesting notion of Aliens vs. Cherokee.
Prey for Zenimax [Blue's News]

I thought Prey was a surprisingly good FPS, so news that the sequel might actually come to fruition (by way of Zenimax and most likely id software no less) is good news.
I highly urge any FPS fans out there to check out the first Prey if they haven't already. I think it goes for about $6 used nowadays. Great atmosphere, creative weapons, and fun.
