Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary
Dear Diary,
It was a relatively quiet week in Narnia. There were some happenings, a departure, and a deadly catch, but honestly, the whole thing left me kind of "eh." I know I'm totally not selling this, but if you want to know the deets, they're after the jump!
So I guess I wasn't chatty enough with Tortimer last week during the Fireworks Show. My friend Rob mailed me a sparkler and a roman candle as evidence that I was wrong last time and there are giveaways. So sure enough, during this week's show, I chatted up Tortimer a little more and got myself a couple of each. Since having weekly Fireworks Shows all month makes them less special than once a year, it's nice to have the toys to play with. It's more fun, at any rate.
This is the sparkler...
And this is the roman candle. Oddly, it gets really bright towards the end, which is when I snapped this picture. So that's why it looks like daylight instead of nighttime.
So after telling me last week he was going to up and leave Narnia, Rolf finally hit the road. But not before leaving me a nice note with some helpful advice. Right now, there's still no replacement. I don't know why it takes so long. I guess the housing market is a little slow, so it takes a little while to find someone willing to move in or something. I don't know why. Narnia is a fantastic town. We've got a fountain, a huge department store, a well-stocked museum and beds and beds of rare flowers everywhere you look! What's not to love? We should be turning people away left and right!
Last, but not least, I actually caught a scorpion! The giant hairy spider continues to elude me (well, not elude me as much as he continues to chase me and bite me before I can catch him, but you get the idea), but this time I spotted a scorpion and was able to switch to my net fast enough to give chase. See, these deadly creatures start off by scurrying away from you, but as you go after them, that's when they turn on you and attack! You really only get one shot at stopping them with your net, and this time I was actually skilled enough to pull it off! Go me! Of course, this one had to go in the museum, so I don't know how much you get for them from Nook. I should imagine quite a bit because they show up so rarely and are so hard to catch. Next time!

just an FYI for everyone reading this (because you don't cover this kind of stuff in your diary entries): there are three new DLC items coming out.
Tomorrow the Americas will be recieving hopscotch flooring, to celebrate back to school.
Tomorrow Europe is releasing a gamecube dresser, which is bascially a gamecube that opens up in the front and you can store stuff in it. It is already out, as Europe is 5-6 hours ahead of the east coast.
Japan is supposed to have an item called "nasubi no ushi" released on the 15th as well. it is basically an eggplant model with wooden legs. sounds weird, but it actually celebrates a japanese holiday where children make egg plant models and offer them to their dead ancestors.
oh, and the scorpion/tarantula are easier to catch if you can corner them. it doesn't have to be entirely about the luck of the swipe. either try and sneak up on them when you see them, or back them into a corner, wait until they calm down and aren't paying attention to you, then pounce. just sayin'.
I just got the tarantula this week. I didn't find it that hard to catch, just hard to find. What I keep missing is the bug that looks like an item drop. It always scurries in to the river.
I don't write about the upcoming DLC because I don't know what's coming. I'd rather just be surprised when I see Pete standing outside my house. It's always such a thrill!
And Jamie, I don't know what bug you're talking about. It looks like an item? I've only seen the tarantula and the scorpion. What's that one?
the item is a leaf bug. it looks like a leaf like all the items do when they are in your pockets
