The Art Of Fallout 3

Okay, nobody's going to call the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Fallout 3 beautiful per say, but it's certainly visually compelling in its own unique way. Which is why it's kind of cool that Bethesda is releasing The Art of Fallout 3 as a full 8" x 12.4" coffee table book. It's currently available for pre-ordering on Amazon.com for just $29.99. The only hitch is that it's just a larger-format version of the art book that was included as part of the Fallout 3 Collector's Edition. So if you already own that, it's up to you whether bigger is better. But for those of us who didn't splurge for the CE, this is a great opportunity to get our hands on the collection of conceptual artwork and developer commentary. According to Amazon, the book is set to be released on October 6.

I just hope the book doesn't deteriorate in your hands like the BioShock Art Book did! That was very poorly constructed.
I have the book that came with the collectors edition. I can honestly say I have never looked at it. I just wanted the lunch box and bobble head.
Funny, owned the X360 version, and later got the PC one for mods. Then 2 weeks ago was in EB, they had their gamerdays on with PS3 FO3 collector for 25 bucks. Decided to complete the trifecta, and glad I did. The art book is solid, both physically made, and content wise. Great read. The evolution of various weapons and creatures is something else.
Maybe not beautiful like a flower, but I find the aesthetic of desolation, loss and emptiness to be profoundly beautiful in the game.
Who hasn't stood at the top of a broken freeway and watched the sun go down while a giant radscorpion trundles by in the distance, or walked alongside a little herd of brahmins and felt at peace in the quiet of it all? A friend who also plays Fallout told me once that he watched from a distance a robobrain apparently stuck between a couple rocks go back and forth endlessly, and said a game had never prompted such a moment of loneliness and sadness in him.
Never mind a damn art book reissue, when's the DLC coming to PS3 - first it was 'late June', then 'August' now 'September'. And they're mucking about with BOOKS? How about giving customers what they want, which is DLC on all formats.
I almost bought the PC version today, I'm that bloody sick of waiting and waiting and waiting...
