Call For Writers!

After I put out a call for new Gay Gamers of the Week, many of you expressed an interest in writing for the site. As it happens, we are in the market for some new writers, so if you are interested, we would love to hear from you. Before sending in your applications please read the list of requirements below.
- First and foremost, this is a volunteer position meaning there is no pay. We all do this out of the love of games and wanting to provide a GLBT safe space for gaming.
- You must be able to commit to doing at least one article a day at an assigned time. We can decide a time that works best for you, but consistency is the key.
- We are looking for all kinds of writers: male, female, trans... all are welcome and encouraged to apply.
Now that we have those two thing out of the way, here are the things you need to do to apply.
- Send in at least two samples of your writing. The best bet would be to write two original pieces (one news item, one opinion piece) as if you were writing something for the site.
- Spelling and grammar count, so be sure to use that spell check.
- Send your samples with a general time of day you'd like to write (morning, afternoon, evening) along with a little bit about yourself to info@gaygamer.net.
- The subject line of your email should read "GayGamer Writer's Application"
As of now we are particularly interested in writers who can be available in the morning and early afternoon. We are also looking for folks interested in doing reviews as well as someone who might be interested in copy editing. And of course, most of all we are looking for people excited about the game industry with a fun personality and interesting writing voice.
Hope to hear from you soon!
