WoW Armory On Your iPhone

WoW_Armory.jpg

Well, in case you weren't getting your World of Warcraft fix outside of the game while you on the go and mobile, Blizzard has finally launched their own official iPhone and iTouch application that will grant you quick access to WoW's Armory information on the go. The list of actions that you can do with the new app are touted as:

  • Search for and view any character, item, guild, or Arena team in World of Warcraft.
  • Access your in-game calendar of events.
  • View achievement-point leaderboards.
  • Plan out talent specs using the fully functional talent calculator.

They actually have just about everything you'd want to check on the application (other than the Auction house) so it can be helpful for when you need to scratch that WoW itch and don't have an idle computer sitting close by. I personally don't have a fancy iWhatever device myself, so I can't tell you just how clunkyly or quickly the information is pulled from the WoW Armory, but hopefully one of our readers can fill us in on that info. It's probably better I don't have access to this, since I'd be playing with the talent calculator way too much, and not working on articles like I'm suppose to be . . .

Check out their info page to see a video of the app in action and a link to download it for FREE from the Apple Store.

the app is really awesome, especially considering it's FREE. the only things it doesn't have that i personally would like to see are (1) you can't save talent tree specs – sometimes i like to save different options to try out later – and (2) there's no info on your reputation status. i find the latter one weird, because that info is readily available at the regular, browser-accessed armory. why they left it out of the iphone app i have no idea. (maybe in v2.0?)
