Video: Insanely Awesome Video of Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
In general I have a weakness for 2D animation, but what Gagne International Animation and FuelCell have put together in the above trailer completely blows me away. With seemingly Lovecraft inspired environments and creatures, a beautiful silhouette art style, and some of the smoothest and beautiful animations around, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet looks like an amazing game.
Unfortunately there's no official word on a release date, but according to the game's blog there may also be an XBLA version in the works. The game has been in development since 2007, so I'd hope that it would be near completion by now, but with animation this good it will definitely be worth the wait.

That's the most terrifying platform-ish game I've ever seen. My adrenaline rushes just watching the little ship run from the tentacle creatures!
This just looks utterly fun to play - something that is a great relief considering how incredibly sublime the graphics are (and by that I do mean the original sense of the word as gorgeous horror). All those swarming tentacular things, and that bumbershoot of a saucer!
I want to play this game very, very much.
Whoa. That looks amazing...it reminds me of the end credits for both A Series of Unfortunate Events and 300 (the movies).
And they know how to edit...that's a well-put together trailer. Bodes well. I'm intrigued for sure.
All I have to say is badass!!!
Never heard of it before, but after seeing that trailer, this game shall haunt my thoughts until release.
