Rare-ish Shin Megami Tensei Reprints In Stock At Amazon.com

If you've only gotten to know the Shin Megami Tensei games with the last couple of Persona titles, you may not realize how long and storied the series actually is. Thanks to a few reprints from Atlus, it appears that you can grab some older, somewhat rare games from a few years back without paying a huge mark-up. SMT: Nocturne, along with Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 , all for the PS2, are in stock at Amazon.com right now for $29.99 each. The reprints don't include any of the fun stuff that the first editions had (like soundtracks or collector boxes), but really, the games should be enough if you haven't had a chance to play them.
I've seen these reprints go pretty fast before - a few weeks back I was about to post about Digital Devil Saga 2 being in stock when I apparently bought the last copy myself - but they seem to be showing up with more regularity now. At $30 a pop I wouldn't call them "deals," but when the reprints aren't on sale prices tend to go up quite a bit. If you liked Persona 3 and 4 but haven't tried anything else, you may want to give these a shot. If you can only get one, consider Nocturne as the story is stand-alone. The game isn't very forgiving, though. As for DDS, most folks seem to prefer 2 to 1, but they're pretty well linked together, plotwise. If you've played through any of the games, feel free to weigh in on the relative value of each in the comments. To buy through the GayGamer.net store, click on the links for each of the games below.

I'm so glad I can buy nocturne again! I sold it to gamestop years ago thinking I could buy it again if I wanted it but I could never find it. That game is worth a ton to me, I'd say up to $100.
