Hudson Bringing The Classics To PSN Soon

One of the features of Nintendo's Virtual Console that I've enjoyed the most is non-Nintendo support. Getting the chance to play Genesis classics like Alien Soldier and just about every Star Soldier title known to man has been a real treat in those precious few moments in which I can't find a modern title to play. Being able to bust our retro goodness for fair price has always been something that I wished the Big N's competition would do a little bit more regularly.
According to Siliconera, starting soon we should be expecting retro re-releases from none other than Hudson on the Playstation Network. Responsible for the majority of NEC's PC Engine's games and the aforementioned Star Soldier series, these are the people that brought us titles like Bomberman, Alien Crush, and the drastically underplayed Military Madness. While Hudson has made some of its titles available over the PSN in Japan, this marks the first non-Sony platform to make an appearance on the service in North America. It's important to note that their Japanese releases are able to be downloaded onto your PSP, similar to how PS1 games purchased from the PSN can be played on the handheld (hint to Nintendo: the DSi has storage for this type of thing). Siliconera wasn't able to get any solid dates or titles from Hudson, but I'm not going to be surprised when I see Bonk appearing on my PS3 soon.
