CliffyB: Gears 3 Might Have RPG Elements

CliffyB admires BioShock and Deus Ex so much that he's thinking of incorporating RPG elements into Gears of War 3; in fact, CliffyB thinks the future of shooters lies in that direction:
Ken Levine is brilliant. He's been in the game for years and he's finally getting a new set up and kicking butt. There was a time when the industry warmed down, and then Bioshock came along. When I first saw Bioshock I thought, "how is this going to sell?" As a nerd I thought it was amazing but I was worried that a fifteen year old kid would pick it up and think "what the fuck am I looking at"?
But it pleased me to no end that the game did so well. I had a conversation with Harvey Smith - one of the lead designers on Deus Ex - and said to him the future of shooters is RPGs. He said he completely agreed.
What do we think, has Cliff run out of ideas for Gears, or is integrating RPG elements the next breakaway design idea to keep the FPS interesting? I think both are entirely possible.

Bioshock is rated M...
I agree with Cliff. I have been so bored of First Person Shooters for the last few years. I have tried, but I get bored so quick - all of them are pretty much exactly the same except for the story. Just to recap, here are my favorite FPS:
- Half Life 1
- Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight
- Deus Ex
Deus Ex is a fantastic game, especially for its time. Bioshock came close - but the levels were too linear and too much alike, not to mention having unlimited life really ruined the experience for me. Being bored of FPS is probably why I haven't bought a 360! :)
His t-shirt is annoying. If the goal is to say "You are retarded" it should be "You're retarded." Aside from being a douche bag who walks around wearing a t-shirt calling people retarded...he looks like a douche bag who can't even use your/you're properly.
I think the t-shirt is supposed to be ironic or meta. Perhaps a reference to the countless number of individuals who throw around poorly and incorrectly worded insults on the interet?
lol @ Jeremiah. That was exactly the type of response the shirt aims for.
If anyone is wondering, the shirt can be found here:
