Obama Cites Games As 'Health Concern' In AMA Address

ama.jpg

Speaking to the American Medical Association today in an effort to generate momentum for his plans to reform healthcare, President Obama called out video games - as he's done before - as one element of the sedentary lifestyle that's become a national health risk:

The second step that we can all agree on is to invest more in preventive care so that we can avoid illness and disease in the first place. That starts with each of us taking more responsibility for our health and the health of our children. It means quitting smoking, going in for that mammogram or colon cancer screening. It means going for a run or hitting the gym, and raising our children to step away from the video games and spend more time playing outside.

I guess there's a point when "getting kids away from video games" becomes a catchphrase with little to no meaning; conversely, it's hard to argue that video games in general don't encourage a sedentary lifestyle. Less tenable though still valid is Obama's relatively frequent linking of video games to academic underachievement: what else is a slacker supposed to do - read?

you can say the same thing about reading when it comes to his reasoning. I hope many people see how much he truly does not have your back, especially as a GAYMER.

Ugh, he's been linking games to academic underachievement now!? When I get my PhD in a couple years, I'm photocopying it and sending it to him along with a picture of my lifetime collection of video games. He's pulling that same crap Hillary Clinton used to pull when she was in the Senate. (That's been one plus of having her as Secretary of State, is that she no longer even mentions games.)

While I'm definitely glad he won, he's really starting to tick me off with stance against gay rights (yes, its definitely evolved into an ANTI- position rather than just being apathetic) and his comments about one of my favorite past times.

I guess Obama doens't understand the difference between Good and Bad change. He just takes whatever comes at him, even if it will destroy the American dream and our freedoms.

So once the kids get up off their twinky eating asses stop playing GTA and go outside unsupervised by the parents that bought them GTA, they can get skin cancer because the parents didn't make them put on sunblock? Some preventive measure eh President Two Face?

Okay, here's another politician mouthing off about how video games are bad, now he's not saying their 'evil' or need to be banned, just I guess there too many lazy fat kids in the world? Lord knows we can't take on the internet so how about something else? Something that's already been put up as bad-Oh yeah video games!

The only thing I've got to say about this is...'PSSSSHHHHHHSSSHHHHHH! Please.' *insert head bob to the left n right*

It's kinda funny how people thought Obama was gonna be this big messiah like figure who could do no wrong, just because he was the first black American president.

Really people, politicians are all the same. White, black, man, woman,...
I expect even a gay president would be a total douche.
Either way, it's nice that he's showing his true colours across the board.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
