Microsoft Confirms Memory Upgrade On Xbox Arcade Package
As an early adopter of the Premium package for the Xbox 360, I'm quite happy to have a hard drive and wireless controller at my disposal. Who wouldn't be? It's really the only way to go if you have more than a passing interest in playing 360 titles. This is especially true since the increased storage consumption of the "New Xbox Experience".
Microsoft officially confirmed today that new adopters of the Xbox Arcade platform will be more appealing to new adopters, saying that they have doubled the total amount of internal system storage.
We are doubling the size of the internal memory of the Xbox 360 Arcade from 256 MB to 512 MB, We want to offer consumers a bit more memory at the same low price so they can enjoy more experiences on Xbox LIVE.
This hardware revision has been rumored for a little while now and it's nice to see Microsoft still improving their platform.

they should just put the old 20GB HD on the old Arcade one.
Cos people buying the arcade either don't care or don't know what they're buying so at least give them the 20GB in case they ever wanted to download say a 350MG Fallout 3 expansion or something.
Problem is, most Xbox games are built with the Arcade Version in mind which means it relies less on the hard drive and stoage which causes very long load times.
Mass Effect is a prime example to where it puts little on the HD or Card.
The 360s main problem is that it makes the HD optional along of course with there being a major design flaw which makes all 360s a time bomb which gives it limited life but the next couple gaming platforms I think it would be a mistake not to include a Hard Drive.
