EA Invites You To Be A Pepper

Electronic Arts Inc. and Dr Pepper have just announced a multi-million dollar marketing agreement that will see codes from Dr Pepper products used to access exclusive "premium" content in select EA titles throughout 2010.
"The first-of-its-kind partnership with EA will give Dr Pepper fans an unrivaled experience by adding exclusive value to their games such as new levels and items," said Tony Jacobs, Vice President of Marketing for Dr Pepper. "EA is the only media company that could reach our target audience with the breadth and depth of titles for gamers on any gaming platform."
The first title to participate will be The Sims 3, where early next year you'll be able to use codes from specially-marked Dr Pepper products to unlock downloadable content like "one-of-a-kind beach party items or all the elements of a perfect fall tailgating party." Not sure if this would get me to drink more Dr Pepper to get the free stuff, but I suppose if I had a code and the game already, I'd give it a go.
Unless all the free stuff is Dr Pepper-branded. That would be annoying.

Well, they already have a Fanta-slathered refrigerator available for free download .. so I'd say if DrP is sponsoring this content, it WILL be shameless advertising as well.
The Spongebob-ripoff PC, tshirts, and decorations (Mister Sponge, or something of the sort) are pretty amusing. Hideous, but amusing.
