E3 09: Zelda Concept Artwork

Navi Fairy already helpfully reported on Miyamoto's reveal of a new Legend of Zelda game in development for the Wii, but at the time, he didn't have access to the piece of actual art. But I thought you all might still want to see it, even if we don't know who the girl is or anything about it. It just looks cool. So enjoy!

The girl looks to me a bit like the Queen Great Fairy from Wind Waker

I heard she's got the nickname "Mistress Sword"... I can kinda see why. (^_^)

That's very interesting that she has the nickname "Mistress Sword." Because in the concept art Link isn't holding his typical master sword. It would be very possible for her to be something like the "spirt of the master sword" and she'll be a plot character as well as a Navi/Tatl/Midna character.

The idea that she's the "spirit of the master sword" seems interesting... Though she looks so much like the Queen Fairy in WW that I'm willing to bet she really is some sort of fairy deity. They've never had any essential positions in the plots of other Zelda games, maybe the designers are centering this game around fairies? Maybe even Tingle is going to be a major character instead of a cheap bastard who deciphers maps for a ridiculously high price.
BTW, I'm loving MM on the Virtual Console. Brings back so many fond memories... ^-^
Any way this comes in a higher resolution? Would be a neat poster.
at first glance she looks like that bird chick who guards the volcano bird thing in Wind Waker.
I didn't care for Wind Waker and thats as far as I bothered to go.
But thats who she looks like to me.
