E3 09: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
Vicarious Visions president Guha Bala introduced Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 to a closed door group at E3, and the superhero/villain sequel looks bigger, badder, and better than the original in almost every way.
24 characters are available out of the box, and you'll build your team (and change it on the fly, a major upgrade) to take part in the Marvel Civil War, which champions the debate between security and civil liberties. Will you side with Iron Man and his Cheney-esque mindset, which demands that all mutants and supers register with the government, or will you side with Captain America, still championing individual freedom after all these years? Beats me, man.
The biggest addition is the 'power fusion' system that lets any two characters combine their powers for a bombastic display of superheroic/villainous power that makes me think Iron Man may be on to something.
For instance: Wolverine will reflect Iron Man's palm beams off his claws, splitting them into a fan of destruction; Venom's tendrils will reach out and pull any nearby baddies together so that Iron Man can blast them all at once with aforementioned palm beam; Thor and the Human Torch create an awesome fire tornado that wreaks some serious havoc.
Consider MUA2 a must-buy for comic and action-RPG fans when it drops this September.

I saw patriot,so who knows, maybe you'll be able to create the young avengers. Or at least include Hukling.
Yeah, I was gonna mention spotting Patriot in there. Still holding out for Wiccan and Hulkling being in there. Come on people.
They do seem to be playing fast and loose with teh characters though. Cable? Madrox? Juggernaut? If these are examples of playable characters, they're wasting spots on people who weren't even involved in Civil War. Neither was the Hulk, but I'll bet a fortune he'll be in it. Even though Hulkling could easily fill his spot.
And both Billy and Teddy had a fairly important part to play in CW.
IS DAT SUM DEADPOOL
IN MY PANTS
I'm not sure I love the idea of being able to switch your heroes/villains in and out at any time, from a storytelling perspective. I liked the ability to work your way towards those "points", almost transporter sites,in the previous Marvel and X-Men games...it just made more sense. Still, a minor gripe given the new characters we're getting with this addition (Mockingbird? Not timely with Civil War...she showed up during the Skrull Invasion which came later, but still pretty awesome.)
I hope they add some more x-men character, wolverine is 'always' a given since the fan base 'hearts' him. Storm is okay, but I would really love to see new guys in there of the x-men variety since there were SO many of them.
Also Songbird, sweet I always wanted to play a sonic based person I also wonder if Dr. Strange will be coming back.
The game is looking better and better! I hope Rogue or Ms. Marvel is included. We need some strong ladies. :)
