Dragon Age: Origins PC Requirements

Well, in the past month Fruit Brute and Tiny Dancer have shown us some nice footage of the upcoming BioWare RPG Dragon Age: Origins. At E3, along with a new trailer, Tiny Dancer got some info about the game with an overview of the romance system that was reminiscent of Baldur's Gate but only mentioned your male character flirting with the ladies. Unfortunately, that's pretty much the only information he got, so he was left looking at just the pretty graphics.
Well luckily now he will know what the recommend system requirements that are needed to see those pretty graphics and intricate storylines if you pick up the game to play on the PC:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz Processor or equivalent
RAM: 4 GB (Vista) or 2 GB (XP)
Video: ATI 3850 512 MB or greater
NVIDIA 8800GTS 512 MB or greater
DVD ROM (Physical copy)
20 GB HD space
Not bad for recommended, which is a bit higher than the bare minimum needed to play the game. Looks like it will need 20GB to install on your system, which means it's a good thing they opted for using the DVD-ROMs instead of CDs. The video card requirement isn't too bad either, since it looks like it can run on a card that's been updated in the past year or two. The game is set to release on October 20th so you'll have some time to upgrade your system to play if you need to do so. Hit the jump to see what the minimum specs are to play the game.

I honestly can't fathom why any game company would still use CDs for a PC game in this day and age. Any computer capable of running moderns games IS going to have a DVD-ROM, and if you don't, you're doing it wrong.
Hell, DVD should have been the standard for PC games 5 years ago. What took them so long?
Shin: I share your outrage. It's like the digital TV switchover - why should the rest of us be hamstrung because of the handful of folks who haven't updated their technology in 20 years?
Reinstalling WoW from CDs always reminds me of playing friggin' King's Quest.
20 Gigabytes?!?
It was announced on BioWare's forums that the character Alistair will be a romance option.
It is also said that there are flirt paths for companions. And that there are friendship paths for every companion.
