Video Rumor: Team ICO's Next Game "Project Trico" Video Leaked

It's safe to say that Team ICO's next game was already my most anticipated upcoming game, and that was based purely from the pedigree of the team and no knowledge of the game whatsoever. Thanks to PlayStation LifeStyle we now have a leaked trailer for what looks to be Team ICO's next game, and it is simply beautiful. Watch the trailer above, then give yourself a few minutes to pick your jaw up off of the floor.

Codenamed "Project Trico" (note that Shadow of the Colossus was at one point called "Project Nico") the game looks to follow a young boy and a strangely adorable giant cat/rat/griffin creature. The bond between the boy and his animal companion seems to be the primary focus of the trailer, and that emotional bond will probably play a large part in the game's story as well. There are also a few hints at gameplay in the trailer, showing the boy using the creature's size, strength, and swimming ability to navigate ruins. One scene also shows arrows sticking out of the creature, hinting that combat in the game will be against more human foes than the team's past games.

It may also be worth noting that the boy bears a striking resemblance to a younger, hornless version of the protaganist from ICO, so it is possible that this is a direct prequel, or at the very least takes place in a world with similar fashion trends.

Really though, just sit back and bask in the beauty of the trailer, because it is stunning. Or at least bask in it until Sony has it taken down from YouTube. Hopefully some more info will be available come E3.

It's worth noting that the initial trailers for SotC also had multiple characters that looked like the protagonist from Ico as a placeholder.

I certainly awwed over the griffin creature, however.

Where is the beautiful, mysterious female character that made Ico and SotC so interesting?

Anyway, it does look pretty neat.
