Video: Heavy Rain Gameplay Footage
This nearly snuck by me last week, but some more gameplay video for the upcoming Heavy Rain finally got released. I've been wondering exactly what the game was going to be like for ages now, ever since that first 'uncanny valley' footage from E3 2006. A little heavy on the quicktime events but it looks interesting. Anyone else feeling the Indiana Jones vibe at the end there?

If this game lives up to the potential and hype, it could possibly be one of the few titles for the PS3 that makes me finally suck it up and buy the console. After a price drop, of course!
Something (and quite a lot of it) lacked in that vid for me.... I wasn't nearly as hyped as thought I'd be :/
The eyes of the two characters shown in the vid were freaking me out. Something is wrong with those that gives the whole face & facial expressions a very very odd/artificial/fake/freaky look. Can't decide which one. Maybe all of them....
That amount of quicktime events is not something I'm looking forward to. Hope the rest of the game's not as crammed with 'em.
wait, i am soooo confused. what does this have to do with that trailer from forever ago. the one that made it seem like a survival horror type game. and can we get Tay Zonday to sing the theme song for it.
I can't help but be reminded of Dragon's Lair here...not that that's a bad thing.
Well I'd say the game does have some serious Uncanny Valley moments, but those aside I'm rather looking forward to this one. I was a huge fan of Indigo Prophecy and so I'd love to see how this goes. (If you don't like QTE's, I would probably tell you to stray away, because of Indigo was any Indi-cation (eh?), it's gonna be pretty much all that.
Also: I feel like there should have been a witty comment at the end there. Since he didn't drop one, I'll have to...
"Looks like he was... tread... serious."
Huh. The investigation interface looks really neat -- kind of reminds me of what little I saw of Condemned -- but the pacing and acting leave, uh, something to be desired. The entire sequence felt kind of rushed, and not in a good way.
If I'm honest with myself, this game was the entire reason I bought my PS3. Even though it did have a few bugs, and it sort of hell apart in the last quarter, I LOVED Indigo Prophecy, just for finding a neat way to tell an interesting story.
I'm not usually big on QTE, but they look much more organic and less intrusive here than I've seen them anywhere else.
Looks very cool and it makes me want to play Indigo Prophecy again. Too bad the dialog sounds like it was written by a third-grader.
this looks like a shenmue clone to me
