Video: Aliens Vs. Predator
Okay, this teaser trailer that SEGA released for the upcoming Aliens Vs. Predator game really is nothing more than a big tease, but I've actually got some more details. Aliens Vs. Predator is being developed my Rebellion, who were responsible for the beloved similarly-titled game on the old Atari Jaguar. And although the title only mentions two creatures, there's actually three playable beasts if you include the Colonial Marine. Each character will have its own specific single-player campaign that will interweave with the other two. And naturally there will be online three-ways where you can see which one will come out on top.
"The original Aliens vs. Predator game was a landmark title for Rebellion, and we are both proud and excited to be revisiting the license with SEGA and Fox L&M. Our new technology will enable us to produce a truly terrifying and visceral experience," said Jason Kingsley, CEO and Creative Director at Rebellion.
The description of the plot, where colonists discover an ancient pyramid where they not only disturb something deep within but also inadvertently summon a hunting party from across the stars sounds quite a bit like the plot to the first AvP movie. But really, who cares about the plot? You either want to shoot things up, rip things apart, or maybe both. And now you can! Fingers crossed they can make just as good a game on the current crop of consoles!
