Rumorama: Sims 3 Leaked

This morning saw still-unconfirmed claims that The Sims 3 had been leaked.
GamePolitics points out that PirateBay currently has posted a 4.94GB file named The.Sims.3-Reloaded. If true, EA's latest piracy breakout would come just two weeks ahead of the game's June 2 launch.
Another leaked EA/Maxis game, Spore, earned the dubious distinction of being the most pirated game of 2008. Have EA's past flirtations with overbearing DRM earned it a special place in the heart of pirates? Or perhaps piracy boosts the PC market? Or maybe big projects will always present big attractions to the insatiable internet? Ask Hugh Jackman.
We'll let you know if this one turns out to be the real deal.
The Sims 3 Leaked? [GamePolitics]

Ah. Many simmers alike were frantically arguing over the premature release of the Sims 3. It's been confirmed that it's a release of alpha/beta stage, seeing as it was released WITH DRM attached to it, after EA retracted from the use of DRM in the Sims 3. It actually shows how useless DRM actually is; anyone can pirate it and WILL pirate it. Sims 2's ratings were still extremely high, despite the fact that there are pirated versions for it.
The loyal fans were kind of overwhelming. I didn't know there were so many. Kids and adults alike did not like the game being released 2 weeks before the launch. Most are already conspiring and putting in their opinion on who the culprit is. The released game wasn't even that good. It's missing a bunch of content and what not. Supposedly there was a youtube video, but I'm unsure if that's true.
I'll definitely be buying the game despite this happening. It actually kind of wants me to buy it more to show my support. Kind of makes you wonder if this was a marketing scheme by EA, to bump up hype for Sims 3? Who knows. :P
Ok, this might be the very first time in my life that I will pirate a game.
Still, I'm such a goody two shoos that I will buy the actual game afterwards.
If the game hadn't been delayed, I might have resisted.
As a noted hater of DRM, and downloader and distributor of every single large game released using it, It's nice to know the dissenting voices still yield a little notice, I shall in fact be purchasing Sims 3 and not downloaded it.
I know of tons of people who are doing the same, not just because Sims 3 is not putting the computer breaking Securom anti-user rubbish on systems, but because apparently the game is very good also.
It's nice to see the camels back broken, admitting the mistakes and moving on is a large part of the so called battle.
I just paid for my pre-ordered copy of the Sims 3 today...and truth be told, I'm not really concerned about the idea of pirated versions out there. I loved what Maxis did with the first two and have faith that my money (what little of it I have right now) is going to be well spent.
Beyond that, I don't mind piriting music per se, but have never once thought about downloading a pirated game. Maybe I value one over the other, but even though the Sims 3 is possibly avalible to download, I'd rather have the legitimate experience.
Yup.
Just confirming that torrent's are getting swarmed with Sims3. One of those sites has a current count of 1281/781 seeder/leecher ratio and those numbers are actually valid o_O
I think I'll resist having a peek and wait for it (or a demo) to be properly released.
Why bother downloading the pirated version, when it's not even the fixed, complete game? It's a waste of time, and, if you have dail-up, percentage. [: I mean come on, it's only two more weeks. Sims 3 isn't exactly something you need to survive. So I, being a true fan, will wait for the actual release of the game.
I also want to wait for the actual release. Downloading a game like the Sims 3 obviously isn't legal (though there are currently hundreds of debates going on as to whether that is true or not) and with the file size being quite big, some people with slower internet rates are probably going to take two weeks to download it anyway, and that would pretty much make it a waste of computer space, as well as a reason for their computers to slow down. How pointless. I also agree with the fact that it isn't even the full version; judging by some of the comments left by the people who actually bothered to download the game, it is full of bugs and glitches (gamefaqs, if you want to have a look).
i've heard that the game wich leaked may be full of bugs so EA should make a playable demo version of the game wich doesnt have so many features like full game , so pirate game would be worth nothing.
time dilation doesn't work in the leaked version so it takes basically forever to play but other than that, i can tell all of you true-blue sims fans that this is definitely the best yet. money well-spent if you have the system req's to run it correctly. that's all i have to say.
This is incredibly cool. I Loved it very much.
