Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary

RUU_0196.JPG

Dear Diary,

This week was kind of a drag. Not too much happened, and it rained an awful lot. On the plus side, I don't have to worry about keeping the flowers watered when Mother Nature does it for me, but on the negative side, rain is gloomy. Yuck. Also, things got a little scary when I saw a ghost! I'll tell you all about it after the jump!

While wandering around doing my usual rounds of watering and weeding and digging for fossils, I came upon a genie lamp laying next to the river. I picked it up and found that it's an empty lamp, but I wasn't quite sure what to do with it. But I heard stories about a mysterious figure who would come looking for their empty lamp, so I hung onto it and went wandering around again later, once it was dark and scary out.

While walking down near the ocean, I suddenly heard a voice calling out to me. Spooky! Then in a puff of smoke, a ghost appeared and introduced himself. He wasn't scary after all. No, he's just a poor lost little ghost named Wisp, who was looking for his empty lamp. He thought he'd lost it somewhere in Narnia, and asked if I would be so kind as to keep an eye out for it. Since I'd already found it earlier in the evening, I was able to produce it immediately.

He was thrilled to have his home back, and wanted to repay me, but being that he's more comfortable residing in enclosed spaces like his lamp, he asked if maybe we could talk somewhere more... cozy. Specifically my attic bedroom. I would've thought that was a come on, but turns out it wasn't. Still, I've heard worse lines trying to get me into a bedroom!

I was told to rub the lamp once I was in my attic to make him come out. (I know, right — it just sounds so dirty! I can't help it!) I was tempted to rub the lamp on the way to my house, just to see what would happen, but I didn't want to risk pissing him off and not getting my reward. Once I was in the attic, I rubbed the lamp and Wisp reappeared. He offered to weed my town, squash all my roaches, or give me a rare item. Since I always weed my town in an effort to keep it perfect, I didn't need that. And I'm very clean and I'm around often enough that no roaches have ever appeared in my house, so forget that. Waste of a good reward. So instead, I opted for the rare item. I was given my choice of clothing, hat or furniture, so I opted for furniture. Probably should've gone for clothing, though, because all I got was a stupid kiddie bookcase. I don't know if it's actually rare or not, but it doesn't seem that special! Eh.

The only other big doings this week was Nature Day. On the 21st, I saw a sign posted on the bulletin board touting Nature Day. And just like with Earth Day, there was really nothing going on. No big deal. So imagine my surprise when the next day turned out to be the actual holiday.

RUU_0198.JPG

I didn't realize. I thought the message was posted on the day. My bad. Because I wandered past Town Hall and saw Tortimer loitering around outside. And if he's hanging around causing trouble, it can only mean a holiday with a free gift! And sure enough, in honor of Nature Day, Tortimer gave me a cool globe. It's sort of like the regular globe, and it spins, but it looks all antique brown and grey. So I guess it is kind of cool.

Oh yeah, one last thing. My red shoes were clashing with my suave detective outfit, so I went to town to get them shined into another color. (I also swung by Redd's and got lucky again with an actual real painting, so that was cool.) But I also thought my white hair was making me look older than I really am, so I also swung into Shampoodle for a quick haircut. Now I've had this awful look before, but what I really want to know is how this color matches the keyword I chose. In what universe is puke green "attractive"?!?! Ugh.

"This week was kind of a drag. Not too much happened"

...and then you mentioned a ghost and Nature Day and some other goings on. Weird!

Was that first picture chosen with the intent of implying something sexual??

Or am I just reading too far into this?

Seems like seeing a ghost is something to write about, and not nothing happening.

Unless ghosts are common in this world.

Like Mario isn't scared of ghosts, he's used to them. Luigi too.

Yoshi's kind of a vag (no offense ladies) in that respect though.
