Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary
Dear Diary,
This week was Easter, but since they don't actually celebrate real holidays in this world, it was called Bunny Day or some crap. Whatever. It was still Easter. There was even an egg hunt! I also got another special delivery from an increasingly generous Nintendo. What's next?
At the beginning of the week, I was surprised to see Nook selling a common painting in his store. Odd, because usually you only find paintings at Redd's back alley shop, and there, they're fakes 95% of the time. But you can trust Nook, so this common panting was clearly the genuine article. And half the price of Redd's! And as an added bonus, I actually needed a common painting in the museum, so that was the icing on the cake!
It seems like I hardly ever remember to attend K.K. Slider's little concerts on Saturday evenings. I just like the song I have playing on my stereo now so much that I'm not interested in getting new tunes to replace it. But this week I was around and remembered after eight, so I popped in. I didn't have a song in mind to request, so I just told K.K. my mood was "grumpy." He decided to play me "Go K.K. Rider," which turned out to be a pretty awesome tune. Not as awesome as the one I still use, but awesome none the less.
So on Sunday, I left my house and noticed quite a few holes in the ground. My first thought was that it must have rained overnight, and I didn't realize. But instead of a gyroid, I dug up an Easter egg! Sorry, a Bunny egg. That's when I remembered that it was Easter. Sorry, Bunny Day. I ran into Ankha then, and she told me about some creepy dude in a bunny suit loitering around Town Hall, so I immediately headed up there to see what the deal was. And boy, I wasn't disappointed!
Zipper T. Bunny was dancing to some irritating music outside of Town Hall, and the guy's not even a real rabbit! True to his name, there was a zipper down the back of his costume, and he would sometimes complain about steaming up his mask. I heard rumors that it was actually Tortimer dressed up, but first of all, Zipper is way bigger than Tortimer. Plus, when I went into Town Hall, Tortimer was asleep at his desk as always. So I don't know who the heck was in that costume. All I know is that there were colored eggs buried all over town, and inside most of them was candy, but inside some were Bunny foils that you could exchange for prizes!
For each Bunny foil you gave Zipper, he would give you a piece of the Egg furniture series. I searched high and low, but couldn't quite get all of the pieces, so I left and came back again after a few hours to give him some time to plant more eggs around town. And sure enough, I found the last three I needed, giving me the complete set! It's kind of weird-looking, but I love the giant egg lamp that glows. It's like Alien!
Here's the complete egg furniture series in my house. As you can see, I also changed my clothes into a detective outfit since the Able Sisters finally had the hat so I could make the set. My patience is always rewarded! Oh, also, during Bunny Day, I remembered that I'd bought a bunny hood a week ago, and put that on just to get into the spirit of the holiday. Unfortunately, I didn't have a top to match, so I looked a little crazy, but whatever. Now I look like Sherlock Holmes, out to solve a big case!
Pascal swung by again for another one of his weird little hippy sayings. Again, I had a scallop that I'd been hanging onto just for him, and this time he gave me a cool ship cannon. I put it in the basement with all my other cool stuff, but if I get much more of the ship series, I may just make that my main set at some point!
I also wanted to mention that I've really slipped into a routine now. I work my way through the town sector by sector, looking for weeds to pull, flowers that need watering, and any new hybrids that may have popped up overnight. I'm oddly meticulous and maybe a little OCD about it. What's funny is that when I see a hole in the ground, I instinctively walk over it because if it's a pitfall, there's no point in digging it up, because Nook won't give you any money for it, and watching people fall into them gets old after a while. The only thing is, setting them off yourself can be a little tiresome, too. Although I thought it was hilarious that this day that I did it, Fang happened to be nearby, and he totally looked over at my plight, and didn't do a thing to help. I bet he was even laughing inside. That would be so like him!
Now that it's spring, the bugs are back in season, but most of them I've already caught. I need to figure out which ones I'm missing and when I should look for them. I don't want to miss any! Well, I'm sure I've already missed some, but I refuse to time travel to get them. I guess I just don't want to miss too many. I also love giving Blathers bugs for the museum because he's so scared of them. Even a snail! Hilarious!
Oh, right, I forgot to mention that Pete had a delivery for me from Nintendo on Wednesday. But my pockets were too full of letters that I'd been hanging onto that he couldn't give it to me. I rearranged my letters to make room, but when I tried talking to him, he just told me he had to go make more deliveries. So I tried going inside my house to come out again, since that's when he offers you the special deliveries, but when I emerged, he was totally gone! Rude! So I had to wait until the next time I left town and came back, which was the next day as it turns out, since I wasn't really that interested in the gift. And it turns out for good reason, since it was just a little financial support on tax day. And by little, I mean very little. It was only 1,000 bells! I can get that by picking a couple cherries off of a tree! Cheap gift, Nintendo. Try again!

Hehe. I might just have to set the calendar back to Bunny Day, if only to get that egg furniture set.
