WipEout HD UpDatE
On Wednesday, April 8, Sony is going to release a free update for WipEout HD on the PS3 that is going to add a bunch of new multiplayer features to the futuristic anti-gravity racer. There will now be online ranking, with over 50 ranks to take you from a Wipeout Trainee to a Wipeout Legend. A new podium screen will display the top three finishers after a race or tournament, and all racers will have a chance to earn one of the 33 badges that are being added. They're also introducing game invites to make it easier to set up races with your friends, as well as a spectator mode with multiple angles if you're in the mood to just watch. They've also added some additional options when setting up an online race, like choosing to have HUD Weapon Hints on or off, creating a Public, Friends-only or invite-only game, turning on or off Barrel Rolls and Pilot Assist, and setting the number of laps (max of 20). Some of those additions sound like they should've been included from the start (like rankings and game invites), but better late than never, right?
