Will Wright And EA Break Up, But Remain Friends With Benefits

Will Wright, creater of Spore, The Sims, SimCity, (and pretty much anything that involves simulation), has apparently left EA to work on his own projects. It's not the end of their working relationship however.
Will is moving on to work at Stupid Fun Club, a project he started in 2001 that apparently involved robots somehow. Since then it has evolved into a sort of think-tank for entertainment projects. Not just games, but toys, movies, TV... everything, really. Will is apparently expanding his focus.
Electronic Arts, for their part, has invested just as much into Stupid Fun Club as Will has, and get first pick of any game ideas that come out of it. So if EA turns a concept down, Will can still shop it around to other developers/publishers, but they get first dibs A sweet deal. It reminds me of an interesting opinion piece I read back in Feb. I have no doubt Mr. Wright will find much success with this new venture, and I'm excited to see what he comes up with.

more power to him. everyone needs a new outlet once in a while.
I really like the image of a breakup followed by a regular series of booty calls. Who hasn't done that? Plus, EA is such a power bottom. :)
