Video: Dissidia: Final Fantasy Exclusive US Debut Trailer
I may have a never ending amount of hate for the Final Fantasy series, but I can at least admit when they bust out something that looks beautiful. While Dissidia: Final Fantasy launched in Japan late last year, SquareEnix has been nice enough to create a new trailer for eager US/PAL fans. The trailer may not show off any game play [insert joke about FMV as JRPG gameplay here], it does show off a cast of characters from the entire series that is sure to impress longtime fans and even a few detractors such as myself. The obvious ones like Tidus, Cloud, and Sephiroth are all there looking as boyish as ever, plus a few characters that may not exactly spring to mind such as Cloud of Darkness and Golbez are also seen.
My run ins with the series has been hit and mostly miss, but I can't help to get a little excited when I see this. Yes, I've got an import copy of Ehrgeiz that should have taught me a very good lesson or two about being overly excited for Final Fantasy flavored fighting games, but I'm not sure that it'll stop me from picking this up for my PSP when Dissidia ships this summer.

If there's a Japanese voice option, I'll give it a shot. Dubbed Cloud = DO NOT WANT.
I was largely unenthused until they revealed that Shantoto is in there. seriously, that is some wacky stuff.
Dayum, some one sounds bitter. Regardless, I've heard very good things from this game and can't wait to pick it up.
I want to point out, again, that Ergheiz was NOT a Final Fantasy fighting game. It had three (3) Final Fantasy characters in it, and the rest of the characters were original creations.
The game is pretty good, with a decent amount of unlockables and customization.
Of course it's going to be dubbed, because the ALWAYS do that, Damnit.
I'm sure it will be fantastic!
Count me in!
