Rumor Confirmed: Patapon 2 Diskless

I love it when rumors fail to remain rumors. Especially when it pertains to anything Sony related. They sure are a secretive bunch. That being said, Patapon 2 is officially a download only title, being called a "one time test case" by Sony.
Patrick Seybold, Senior Director of Corporate Communications at SCEA, has confirmed that the title will be made available for purchase in retail stores and PSN, although no physical medium will be made available in the US.
We're considering a digital only format for the Patapon 2 release as a one time test case as we continue to explore consumer preferences for digital content, The downloadable game will be available on May 5th at both retail and via the PlayStation Store. We remain focused on providing superior games and entertainment experiences in both the UMD and digital formats and are working closely with our partners to deliver the best PSP line up in our history.

Buy per play isn't far off.
Ugh. I know I'm in the minority here, but I prefer having disks. For one, I don't want to have to fill my media storage up with games--only to then have to buy more media storage. For another, there's something about the tangible aspect.
My biggest concern, though, is that this will lead right into PSP2. I just bought a PSP thinking a PSP2 would be a year or two down the lane. Doh!!!
@Brer Dan:
I do enjoy knowing that I own my game, and no matter how many systems I go through, or update I can still play my title, and I still own the right to sell the title back to some game store. I don't, however, like the UMD format.
If Sony released the title on a write only Memstick Duo with some flash for save games, I think the system would do a lot better. Solid state + portable =
