Major Nelson Bans Gears Cheaters

Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson posted today that as part of their regular monitoring of Xbox LIVE, they had discovered a group of gamers who had unlocked Gears of War 2 Achievements through an unauthorized hack. (Although really, how many authorized hacks do you see?) The offending players are having their Gamerscores reset, and while I don't know if they're being reset all the way to zero, it would certainly serve them right.
I really appreciate Microsoft monitoring online cheating, because those few rotten apples can really spoil it for the whole bunch of us sometimes. Of course, as long as you've earned your Gamerscore through natural means (playing the living crap out of your games), you're in no danger. It's just the cheaters who have to worry. Of course, I'm sure none of you out there in GayGamer Land are the type to hack or cheat your way to an inflated Gamerscore... right?
Gears of War 2 Achievement Hacking: Banning Has Begun [Major Nelson]

I didn't realise there were people who actually did this. Saddo's. To be honest I didn't even know you could hack 360 games.
Unlocking content through achievement hackers is fine if they deprive people who object to achievements in any form, I hate achievements and feel they add nothing to anything but a sub par game. Go above that and it means nothing.
Like TF2 where they just forced them on you, I always use the Achievement manager when they update characters.
