Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary
Dear Diary,
This week, my town seems to have remained perfect, but I'm not sure how long it has to stay that way before I finally get my hands on that blasted golden watering can. It's been a week now, and still no sign of it, so maybe it's two. I've been dutifully pulling weeds and keeping all the flowers watered, so hopefully it won't be much longer. Although I do live in fear of missing a weed somewhere and having to start the count over again!
Oh, also, there was a fishing tournament last weekend, and I managed to catch a 9.0 inch loach to beat Sally's 8.8, but then the next day, I get a letter declaring me the winner of the stupid good sport trophy or whatever, because freakin' Biskit won it with a 9.0 inch loach. Say what? How does that win? At best, it would tie. And when I catch a fish that ties the record, I certainly don't get to be declared the new winner. I call shenanigans! The whole thing is a fix! I'm contacting Mayor Tortimer about this, and Chip is gonna get in so much trouble!
So Olivia told me she was looking for regal furniture for her home. No problem. I promised her I'd keep my eyes open. So the next day, when Nook had a regal bookcase for sale, I totally bought it for her and stopped by with my present. And do you know what that ungrateful little brat did? She totally turned it down! Just because she already had a bookcase. Who knew they were that picky? And now what the hell am I supposed to do with a regal bookcase? Ah, I just sold it back to Nook. What a waste of good bells!
One thing I noticed this week was that if the floating present is hanging from a gold balloon, you'll get a better item. This one netted me a Mario coin, and later in the week, another one had a 1UP mushroom in it! My basement is slowly but surely filling up with cool (and noisy!) Mario crap. Fun! If it's just a regular color like blue, you're just gonna get some lame piece of furniture like a lemon chair or something. So keep an eye out for the golden balloons!
My shamrock hat didn't last very long on my head because The Able Sisters had a monocle for sale, and I totally snatched that puppy up to pull my top hat and tuxedo out of my bureau so I could finally complete my Mr. Moneybags look! Of course, this ensemble didn't last out the week, but I'll get to that later!
Also this week, Pete was standing outside of my house with another special delivery from Nintendo. I'd thought the Pikmin hats went out a long time ago and somehow I got skipped, but I guess they're going out now because they're spring-like. It's kind of neat, but at the same time, I don't really have any clothes that go with it, so I'm not sure I'll ever wear it. Especially since I bought a bunny hat this week that I'm hanging onto for Easter! (or whatever they call it here)
Tommy Nook finally decided to close for remodeling and re-opened as Nookway this week. It's about time. Now I at least get five furniture items to choose from every day instead of three. Unfortunately, I thought this version of the store was open until 11, but it turns out he's only open 'til 10. Sigh. What a pain. Because if I can't visit town when I get home from work, I have to wait until about 10:30 or so before I can get away, and now Nook's gonna be closed. Why couldn't it be 11? Rude.
So The Able Sisters had a red zap shirt on sale, and I was thrilled, because I'd been holding on to a red zap helmet in my bureau for just this occasion. Now I finally have both matching pieces! And I love that you get a little theme tune zing when you put them on. Of course, the black shoes I was wearing as Mr. Moneybags didn't go with this outfit, so I had to make a trip into the city so I could have my shoes done up in red to match! Now I look like a proper super hero ready to save the world from giant robots and monsters!
In random news, I've been noticing a distinct lack of fossils to dig up lately. I still only need two more to complete the museum's collection, but most days I can't see any holes in the ground. Occasionally, I'll see one, but never more than that. Am I going blind? I thought I found a bunch on one day, but they were all gyroids, because it must have rained the night before. Also, totally randomly, I found Pete wandering around by the beach, totally slacking off. He didn't really have much to say, aside from how he couldn't be seen gossiping or he'd get in trouble. But he certainly wasn't making any special deliveries, and while I was fishing, he was just wandering aimlessly around. No wonder it takes so long for mail to get where it's gotta go!

I don't know about your fossil situation, but sounds like your town is pretty awesome.
I've noticed the same thing with the fossils. Next to impossible to see. I just assumed the green ground made them harder to see than did the previous, snowy ground.
These are my favorite posts in the week. I still haven't made the plunge into AC for the Wii, but I love my DS version and reading your posts reminds me I have a lot more to explore even in that game!
yeah I haven't had any fossils either it seems since the start of spring...Im glad Im not the only one
