Video: Top 5 Videogame Cereal Commercials
I'm sure we've all seen a variety of videogame related cereals on the grocery store shelves when growing up. During my earlier years, my mother forbade sugar cereals in the house, so all I could do was look at the boxes in the supermarket or watch the commercials on the TV. Always longing for the dizzying sugar high and high scores I dreamed they would bring. Apparently the folks over at 1up remember some of those cereals, and their commercials, fondly and decided to put up a list of the Top 5 Videogame Cereal commercials for us.
The above video for the Pac-Man cereal had to be posted here for not only the nostalgia factor, but for the wonderful 80s clothing and dance moves displayed in the video. Although I never got to try this cereal, I remember that it was jam-packed full of marshmallows, which seem to hold a special place in the heart of Scott Sharkey:
There was a certain satisfaction that came with Pac Man cereal. It wasn't just that it had proportionately more marshmallows than any other cereal on the shelf. It was because those marshmallows were tiny ghosts, and with a little imagination we could pretend that we were crunching down on a bowl full of the disembodied souls of everyone who ever hurt us. I wish they'd start making it again just so I could devour an entire box of tinyex-girlfriends[ex-boyfriends] who wouldn't let me watch cartoons while eating cereal in my underpants.

well, if you've ever had lucky charms, the pac man cereal was the same thing, just different shapes. it's a classic cereal manufacturer ploy.

Jesus Christ. It's monkeyballs and squirrelsicles for breakfast. I'm glad nobody had access to these ads when I went into a rave about how TV today is rotting childrens's brains, while our shows where so much more educational and sh*t. I'd have eaten my words, along with pac-man flavored (ugh!) cereals...
