SpongeBob RockBand?!?

Okay, seriously, this is just getting weird. Harmonix and MTV Games just revealed the Rock Band DLC that's due to hit the Xbox LIVE Marketplace on March 31 and the PlayStation Store on April 2, and it's a seriously mixed bag. Seriously.
On the plus side, they're adding some awesome new '80s music with the releases of Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" and Pat Benetar's "Heartbreaker," both of which I will not hesitate to pick up ASAP as I live on '80s tunes. Then you've got "Geraldine" by Glasvegas and "C'Mon C'Mon" by Von Bondies rounding out the new and old kind of thing.
But things take a seriously weird turn with the inclusion of the Nickelodeon SpongeBob SquarePants 3-Pack which includes "I Can't Keep My Eyes Off of You," "The Best Day Ever" and "Where's Gary," all from the 2006 album SpongeBob SquarePants: The Best Day Ever. Really? Really? I didn't realize that there were any small kids playing Rock Band to create a market for this kind of thing. Huh.
On the plus side, while the first four tracks are the usual price, the SpongeBob SquarePants tunes are all $.99 or 80 Microsoft Points each ($2.99 or 240 MP for the pack), so at least they're cheap. Actually, depending on the samples and how they actually sound, for half-price, they might be fun to have in the library for those drunken Rock Band parties...

Actually, we play rock band with my friends' 4 year old and 6 year old, all the time. The 4 year old loves "I Am the Tiger," [sic]. I was commenting earlier to their mom about how well a "kids" pack would do.
They can put anything they like up if they're going to be adding "Don't Stop Believing" at the same time.

I don't mine the 80's stuff any, but this?! I can definitly pass on.
It's actually not all that surprising when you put the pieces together. Harmonix + MTV + Nickelodeon + a couple of other things that include Comedy Central = Viacom. I wouldn't be surprised if the next thing we see after Spongebob songs are songs from South Park or something like that.
I must have had a total brain fart not to connect those dots. My bf works for Viacom, so I should've remembered they're all connected.
And South Park songs totally wouldn't be a bad thing. "Blame Canada?" or "Kyle's Mom's A Bitch?" Awesome.
I may be admitting my own immaturity with this, but I'm offended.
The Spongebob song they should have put on there was "FUN." But I will be downloading "The Best Day Ever" anyway.
