Resident Evil 5 Gets "Versus" DLC

An early morning missive from Capcom informs us that a new multiplayer versus mode will be available via paid DLC. The new mode will pit up to four players against each other in a PvP situation, allowing you to blow away your fellow players rather than asking for their help. After all, who's to say they haven't been infected?
Versus will have two game types, Slayer's Rule and Survivor's Rule. Slayer's Rule has you killing Majinis for points, while Survivor's Rule allows players to hunt each other as Chris Redfield, Sheva or other "secret characters." Both gameplay styles will allow for one-on-one or two-versus-two team matches.
There is no set date for this DLC as of yet, but definitely "a few weeks after RE5 is available. It will cost $4.99 on PSN or 400 MS Points. While this is definitely a welcome addition for some players (personally I prefer co-op to versus) I'm sure many will be put off by having to sink another $5 on top of the initial $60 investment (or $90 if you got the Collector's Edition) to get something that most games include for free.
What's your opinion? Will you shell out the extra bucks for the versus privilege or will you be happy with what comes on the disc?

Whenever I see DLC of any kind I'm reminded of Oblivion's Horse Armor and weigh it against the standard it created. Mostly, I balance the difference between a genuine effort to offer more content, or simple gouging for things that should have been in the game's release to begin with. This one smacks of something that was withheld for the purpose of charging more for a game. What's worse is I thought that's why games cost $60 these days to begin with; to offset additional costs. Why nickel and dime us for a feature that should have already been included when the price of a game is so often outrageous to begin with?
Bah! I've never paid for DLC because I've never been convinced it was created with good intentions toward paying customers.
Tell me that isn't Jill.
That's Jill.
Crap. The rumors are true.
I still don't see the point of online play....if i wanted to play with other people i'd invite them over. So, no, i won't be dowloading this when it comes out
